How to think like a New Yorker cartoonist—AND WHY
The Drawing Board shows business and organizational teams how to draw on their own experience and expertise to visualize change. And act on it in ways that make a visible difference.
Because change is hard, whether you’re talking culture change—ethics, DEI, ESG, team building—or innovating processes, products, and messaging. It requires not only finding where to look, but often the courage to look at things we’d rather not.
Cartoonists do this all the time. It’s our job. We look at discomfort in our own lives, climate catastrophe, or market meltdowns, all to find a new perspective that offers a glimmer of light. We use what psychologists call reframing. We move the problem to, say, a desert island or a psychiatrist’s couch, in order to bypass the fear that paralyzes thinking, and open ourselves to empathy and the attending insight into what in hell is happening.
You don’t need to be a great artist or razor wit to do it too. Let us design a workshop or other cartoon-based program to show you how.
